The Marathon Continues…

This outfit pretty much describes my mood this week. California rapper, philanthropist, and activist Nipsey Hussle’s funeral was just Thursday and I’m still in disbelief at the sudden news of his death. He was young with a bright future, but from his time here on earth he’s left behind a mass legacy; built on the foundations of encouraging others to gain equity ownership, control over one’s future, and mainting the culture of the oppressed. Hussle’s well known motto “The Marathon Continues” has been ringing in my ear all week, and I’ve been enthralled thinking about my own life sprint. I’ve been working to push myself outside the limits of my comfort zone, and I’m determined to maintain my hussle so I can construct a future based on drive and perseverence.

I bought this outfit a few months ago, and I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to wear this gem. I was supposed to be saving money, nevertheless the temptation of online shopping was too strong to resist. A good sale is literally like kryptonite to my wallet, when I saw this blue peacock fantasy ensemble I was instantly captivated by the faux’sace print. I knew there was no way I could pass it up because I’m a sucker for a two piece set.

These shoes have been in my closet for years. I bought them becasue the vibe instantly reads corporate chic…they’re the perfect mix of buisness and sass. A pair of shoes that go seemlessly from day to night. I usually pull them out when I need a good pop of color added to my garb. This outfit already has so many tones of blue that I originally thought about adding a pair of nude colored heels, but in this case I figured why not go overboard and add more blue.
